New building activity on Palm Jumeirah

There has been a noticeable amount of building activity on Palm Jumeirah over the past few weeks with countless trucks arriving onto the Golden Mile garden area and pouring tonnes of sand/soil onto the site. This seems to suggest work on the much anticipated Golden Mile gardens has re-started and hopefully residents in the Shoreline Apartments and Golden Mile buildings will soon have a new view to look on to.

The other area of activity recently is the Palm Jumeirah Marina which is located between buildings 6 and 7 on the right-hand side of the Palm Jumeirah Shoreline Apartments.

The site looks like it has been prepared to potential contstruction work in the near future.

All this activity coincides nicely with the recent announcement from Nakheel that their Debt problems have now eased after successful re-structuring negotiations with their creditors and they have now started paying contractors.

Fingers crossed that the Golden Mile Gardens and the Palm Jumeirah Marina will be compelted soon as this will be a welcome enhancement to the Palm Jumeirah community.

Atlantis the Palm to have RTA water taxi station

Anyone who has visited the Atlantis Nasimi Beach recently may have noticed a new jetty appear from nowhere in recent weeks.

This is the Atlantis’ first RTA watertaxi stop and we are told it will be in operation shortly connecting the Atlantis hotel to the mainland via water taxi.

This is great news for people either wishing to visit the Atlantis or those staying at the hotel and wishing to visit mainland Dubai without having to drive their cars or take a taxi.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority already runs a number of water taxi services throughout the Emirate and this new stop will serve as a fun tourist attraction and new and more environmentally friendly way of getting to and from the Atlantis hotel.
